Paula Órfão

Paula Órfão, born in 1976, obtained a Degree in English and German Studies in 1998 at the Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas (Universidade Nova de Lisboa) (average mark: 16); she also obtained a Master in German Studies (Linguistics) in 2003 at the Faculdade de Letras (Universidade de Lisboa), with a thesis on “Metaphorical conceptualizations of AIDS in German texts: a cognitive approach”, supervised by PhD Maria Clotilde Almeida (average level: Very Good); she is currently writing her PhD thesis on “Online Discourse Construction of Enterprise Identity: a Cognitive Semantic Approach”, in the same institution and with the same supervisor.

Paula Órfão has recently been awarded a PhD grant by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT). She has been teaching several levels of English and German Language at the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, since 1998. Her publications include:
