1951 - Born in Winterthur (Switzerland)
1979 to present - resident in Portugal, dual nationality.
1969-1975 Studies in Romance Language and Literature in Zurch, Paris and Seville. First Degree thesis "Le parole hanno la loro tremenda magia" - The political speeches of Benito Mussolini 1922 - 1940.
1978 - Post-Graduate Teachers Certificate
1979-2001 - Teacher of German as a Foreign Language and lecturer in Swiss-German Language Literature in the German department, Faculty of Letters, Lisbon University.

Responsible for launching a cultural exchange programme with Swiss writers and artists who, together with Portuguese students of German, undertake specific projects in the field of creative writing (e.g. stage and radio plays, translation in cooperation with the authors, etc).

2001-Ph.D in Foreign Language Applied Linguistics/Pedagogy with the dissertation: Im Haus der Sprache wohnen. Wahrnehmung und Theater im Fremdsprachen-unterricht (Living in the House of Language. Perception and Theatre in Teaching Foreign Languages). T¨bingen: Niemeyer (2003).

2001 to present - Assistant Professor in the German Department, Faculty of Letters, Lisbon University.
