A Direcção da Faculdade de Ciências Humanas congratula-se com a avaliação do Centro de Estudos de Comunicação e Cultura pelo painel internacional da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia, com a nota de Excelente, e dá os parabéns à equipa liderada pelo seu coordenador Prof. Doutor Jorge Fazenda Lourenço.
Citam-se abaixo alguns excertos do parecer do painel, que salientam a especificidade da actividade científica do CECC e a forma como reflecte a identidade da Universidade Católica Portuguesa.
"CECC's grounding in the Catholic University, a national and not just a metropolitan institution with a prominent profile, gives the research agenda and intellectual concerns of the research groups and projects a particular edge. Scholarly diagnoses can find much needed worldly applications and intellectual insight can become effective social and international practice. CECC and its distinguished team have great potential in this regard. [...] The structural realignement of CECC is driven by an intellectual agenda of a high order. There is a deliberate attempt to integrate the human resources and particular expertise of the Catholic University with the stated goals for the training missions of the unit."
